What Voice Recognition and speech dictation systems do you use

University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust was formed on 1 April 2021, with the merger of Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust (BSUH) and Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (WSHT).

We are writing with regard to your recent request for information under
the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000.

 

We will require clarification before we can begin processing your request

Please can we understand your speech recognition to workflow process

The Trust has a responsibility under section 16 of the Act to provide
assistance with FOI requests where possible and reasonable to do so.

 

Please can you clarify the information you are looking for us to provide.
With regard to speech recognition are you simply looking for the software
we use for this purpose, if not please can you advise exactly what
recorded information you require?

 

Further to the part of your request concerning “coding” is this related to
coding for speech recognition software or is this an entirely separate
question? If this is a separate question can you please advise what sort
of coding you are referring to i.e. clinical conditions, invoices. Many
teams both clinical and administrative will use some sort of coding within
their roles and to ensure we provide you with the correct information we
need you to clarify this point.              

 

With the above in mind, we are writing to you under section 16 of the Act
[duty to assist] to offer you the opportunity to revise your request. 

               

We will make every effort to provide our information as soon as possible,
however, under the terms of the Act the 20 working day clock restarts when
a request is clarified or revised. A revised request will be logged as a
new request and a new reference number will be assigned. If we do not hear
back from you in two months’ time your request will be closed.

 

We look forward to your reply and we’ll respond in due course. Some
information may be withheld due to exemptions which are allowed for by the
Act. If this is the case, we will tell you that we have withheld
