What Services are currently provided?
Dear Abbey Medical Centre,
Following the Covid19 pandemic, and recent messages from the practice, I would like to ask for a Freedom of Information request on two issues:
What services are ACTUALLY being provided at the surgery currently?
What is your evidence based research on not providing an email address for patients to use to make contacts with the surgery? This would save waiting on the phone and then the subsequent wait for the nurse or the doctor to call back.
I appreciate that there will be many answers that you provide, but as you are contracted to the NHS to provide services, and as a tax payer who makes contributions, I am concerned.
Yours faithfully,
William Irvine
Dear Patient,
Thank you for emailing the Abbey Medical Centre. I am afraid that we are
no longer able to respond to clinical or admin emails from patients.
Please submit your query via our website - www.abbeymc.co.uk
We have changed our appointment system so that the main way that people
can get help from the practice is by starting an online consultation from
our website or the NHS App. You can do this from the comfort of your own
home at any time of day. You will hear back from your GP, or the practice,
by the end of the next working day at the latest- and in most cases, on
the same day.
With an online consultation, you are able to fill out an online form with
the details of your problem (for a specific medical problem, for general
advice from your GP, or for administrative help). The form will ask you a
few questions and then it is sent immediately to the practice where it is
reviewed by our admin team and sent straight to your GP - who can respond
to you directly by phone, email or text.
Thank you for your understanding.
Kind regards,
Abbey Medical Centre
