What Percentage of £1m+ Winners Are Lucky Dip Compared To Player Selected Numbers
Dear Gambling Commission,
I would like answers to Mr Young's request of August 2014, to which the National Lottery made the generic reply "We do not hold this information”. As a former business analyst and compliance professional, I believe that it is not possible to design an IT system to deliver these products that does not "track" the delivery of these products. They have therefore chosen, for marketing reasons, not to have this information, as it would affect the sale of "Lucky Dip" tickets.
"Dear Gambling Commission,
For each of the National Lottery draw-based games (not scratchcards etc.) Please provide the following information on a year-by-year basis since The National Lottery started:
1. Percentage of total tickets purchased online rather than through retail outlets.
2. Percentage of total winning tickets purchased online rather than through retail outlets.
3. Percentage of total tickets using "Lucky Dip" rather than player-selected numbers.
4. Percentage of total winning tickets using "Lucky Dip" rather than player-selected. numbers.
5. Percentage of total winnings using tickets purchased online rather than through retail outlets.
6. Percentage of total winnings using "Lucky Dip" rather than player-selected numbers.
If at all possible, it would be useful to further break down the winning results by amount won and/or number of correct numbers selected.
Yours faithfully,
Mr D E Young"
Yours faithfully,
DL Smith
