What percentage of my Council Tax payment goes to fund employee pensions

Mr Brown made this Freedom of Information request to Wycombe District Council

The request was successful.

Dear Wycombe District Council,

I'd like to know what percentage of my annual Council Tax payment is used to fund employer contributions to your employee pension scheme. I'd also like to know what percentage goes towards management and administration costs.

I'd like this information for 2008, 2009 and 2010 with projections for 2011 and 2012.

For your reference I pay Council Tax on a residential property in Band D.

Yours faithfully,

Mr. Brown

Dani Goodman, Wycombe District Council

For the attention of Mr. Brown

Further to your email regarding the percentage of annual CT payment used
to fund employer contributions to the employee pension scheme, please find
below our response.

Wycombe District Council has two separate revenue accounts - one covering
our landlord services to our council tenants (which is not funded through
council tax), and another account covering all other services, which is
funded in part through WDC's share of the council tax bill (currently
£126.99 for a Band D property).

Our main revenue account (non landlord) includes depreciation and the cost
of housing / council tax benefits.  For the purposes of making a fair
comparison, we have excluded these from the table below, as neither of
these costs are funded through council tax.
