What is Vernon Coaker's role

The request was successful.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I have been told by Dawn Primalo's office that it is Vernon Coaker who has the overall responsibilty for Elective Home Education.

I see no mention of this when I look him up and the email for the DCSF on his webpage does not work.

Can someone please confirm whether Elective Home Education even has a minister?

I am not interested in knowing that Dyleth Morgan is 'responsible' for the Badman Review.

Yours faithfully,

Tania Berlow

Department for Children, Schools and Families

Dear Ms Berlow,
Thank you for your recent email enquiry about Vernon Coaker's role.

The Ministerial Responsibilities are listed on the attached web link:

I have confirmed with Vernon Coaker's Office that Elective Home Education,
which resides in School Organisation, has passed to Diana Johnson.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I cannot see where Diana Johnson's responsibilities cover home education- I see she has 26 responsibility areas .
Please tell me
a) which responsibility listed covers the 20,000 known home educators?
B) When (date) she was assigned this task of being the minister with responsibilities for Home Education.
thanks you

Yours faithfully,

Tania Berlow

Department for Children, Schools and Families

Dear Ms Berlow,
Thank you for your recent email enquiry.

The policy area for Home Education now sits with Diana Johnson's office,
but responsibility for the review of Home Education sits with Baroness
Delyth Morgan.

This change was agreed at the beginning of July as part of discussions
about Ministerial portfolios following the Government reshuffle in June
2009.

As these changes were only made recently, the web link has not yet
been updated. This will be done at the earliest opportunity.
Yours sincerely,

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am still confused.
can you please tell me how Iain Campbell fits into the DCSF department and his role with EHE?

Yours faithfully,

Tania Berlow

Dear Sir or Madam,

please clarify

Yours faithfully,

Tania Berlow

Department for Children, Schools and Families

Dear Ms Berlow
Thank you for your email dated 13 October about Home Education.

I can confirm that Iain Campbell is team leader of the Independent Schools
Partnerships and Strategy Team. This team deals with a number of policy
areas, one of which is Elective Home Education.

I hope this information proves helpful and thank you once again for
writing to the Department.
Yours sincerely

Dear Sir or Madam,

thank you for the response.
It is now confirmed that presently, Diana Jonstone and Ian Campbell are heads of policy with EHE roles.

Can you tell me who else has policy roles for EHE within the DCSF?

Yours faithfully,

Tania Berlow

Department for Children, Schools and Families

Dear Ms Berlow
I am sorry you have not received an earlier reply to your emails of 23 and
27 October asking who is responsible for elective home education.

The Minister with responsibility for home education is Diana Johnson.
Baroness Morgan has responsibility for the review of home education.

The Secretary of State, Ed Balls, has overall responsibility for the
Department's policies.

Once again, thank you for writing.
Yours sincerely
