What has this incompetent blunder cost the taxpayer so far

fFaudwAtch UK made this Freedom of Information request to Humberside Police This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Humberside Police should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Humberside Police,

I would like disclosing the cost so far to the taxpayer (in respect of Humberside police) for the blunder that is set out in the following document.

https://www.scribd.com/doc/283315320/Pub...

I would also like the force to disclose whether in the general circumstances described in the document the force admits to its blunder or carries on at the expense of the taxpayer, and risk wrongfully criminalising someone just for the force to save face.

Yours faithfully,

fFaudwAtch UK

Dear Waller, Paul 8065,

I read all the time about Humberside police's budget being cut. How can it be possible to cut a budget when the force does not account for what it spends?

Yours sincerely,

fFaudwAtch UK

Waller, Paul 8065,

Sir

I can confirm that the individual costs of offences and investigations are not collated. This would take officers and staff away from detecting and preventing crime.

Dear Waller, Paul 8065,

They decided to save face:

"Dear Ms [court employee]

I have a Notice of fine and collection order regarding my penalty which totals £620. This also explains that ultimately I may be imprisoned for non-payment.

I will not be paying a penny of this voluntarily as I have not committed the offence that the court has found me guilty of (why would I).

It seems the majority of the enforcement remedies are not available as I have no car which may be sold, no income (earnings/benefits) to which an attachment may be made. It would therefore seem likely that I will end up being imprisoned for non-payment.

It is unlikely that I will make use of the form you have sent which is for appealing to the crown court as I have absolutely no confidence in the justice system. I have found this out from recent and not so recent civil cases and of course the present criminal case. Given that I have been up-front about my intention not to pay the fine, you may want to save any unnecessary enforcement steps and fast track this to the custodial option.

As the form you have sent has been superseded, I have attached the most recent form, i.e., for appealing to the crown court from a magistrates' court which is now in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Rules, rule 34.3 (2015) as opposed to 63.3.

Your sincerely"
