Dear Customer,

Thank you for being a valued member of our garden waste scheme for 2016/17.

It’s a great time of year as harvest approaches and we gather the produce from our gardens, greenhouses and window sills to enjoy some tasty early autumn treats.

But remember any fruit or food waste whether fallen fruit or not, should NOT be placed in your green bin.

Please ensure only flowers, plants, leaves, bark, hedge trimmings, weeds, grass cuttings, twigs and small branches are deposited in the bin.

We thank the vast majority of scheme members who are very aware of this, as you continue to help us recycle your green waste items so efficiently week after week.

For a full list of what you can and cannot put in your green bin please visit www.keepskclean.co.uk<http://www.keepskclean.co.uk>

Dear Customer,

Waste collections will take place a day later for all residents over the festive period in South Kesteven.

This means there will be no bin collections on Boxing Day, Monday 26 December or Monday 2 January and all collections will be 24 hours later than normal each day during these two weeks.

The changes include black bin and pink bag collections due on Friday 30 December which will take place on Saturday 31 December.

Silver bin and clear bag collections scheduled for Friday 6 January will be collected on Saturday 7 January.

SKDCÂ’s Streetcare Services team will take unlimited recyclable materials in silver bins or clear bags during this time.

They will collect any amount of recyclable items in any clear bags or cardboard boxes as long as it is clear that the items can be recycled and they are not placed in black bags.

Residents are asked to flatten and crush cardboard for ease of transport to recycling facilities or to fit more into your kerbside collection.

However, in keeping with the council's policy all year round, no additional waste will be taken with black bin or pink bag collections.

Residents wishing to purchase additional clear bags should email [email address]<mailto:[email address]>Â

Those who fill their bins or bags can take waste to Household Waste and Recycling Centres in Grantham or Bourne.

As a green bin customer you can put your real Christmas tree out for recycling with your green bin on the day this service operates. To check when this is and what else you can recycle this Christmas visit www.southkesteven.gov.uk/recyclinglist<http://www.southkesteven.gov.uk/recyclin...>
