Martin Clintergate

Dear Office of Communications,

OFCOM published the first annual Media Nations: Wales report in July 2018.
The report reviews key trends in the television and audio-visual sector as well as the radio and audio industry in Wales.

This report contained detailed listening figures for Radio 1,2 and 4 on page 42.

“BBC Radio 2 was the most listened-to radio station across Wales in Q1 2018 with a weekly reach of 38%, followed by BBC Radio 1 at 24% and BBC Radio 4 with 17%.
In Cardiff, Global’s Heart South Wales was the third most popular radio station, with a reach of 21%; behind BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 1. Across North Wales, the three most popular stations were the same as those across Wales as a whole, with BBC Radio 2 having an even greater reach (41%).”

As part of the research OFCOM must have seen statistics for BBC Radio Wales.

Can OFCOM please reveal the listening figures for Radio Wales they hold for Q1 2018....

A) For Cardiff

B) North Wales

Yours faithfully,

Martin Clintergate
