In 2016-17 there was one admission to a long-term placement and none to a
short stay placement.

17. When an adult with learning disabilities is referred do we have a
contract for a set period of time?
 
No. The contract is open ended and subject to an annual care review.
18. How much do you charge private care homes per adult with learning
disabilities for emergency referrals (maximum and minimum prices) and how
much notice is the home given before an adult is placed?
 
Minimum: £527.80; Maximum: £2603.67

19. Is there more of a need for more short-term placements or long-term
placements for adults with learning disabilities?
 
Long term.
20. What is the process for local authorities when making a referral to a
private care home?
 
Requests for spot care packages / placements are made via the Dynamic
Purchasing System. Please see the attached documents.

21. Do local authorities negotiate or have set rate or prices based on an
adult's with learning disabilities needs?
 
There is no set price. Fees are agreed based on the assessed needs and the
agreed model of delivery for support.

22. Do rates vary depending on need/ behavioural problems?
 
Yes, they are agreed individually to take account of these factors.

23. Once established as a provider how will the organisation be promoted
within the council?
 
Through CarePlace and the Council's People Firs website:

provision in?
 
Autism and more complex needs. 

25. What other services in the council refer adults with learning
disabilities to homes?
 
Sometimes the Housing Department will do, but only in conjunction with
Adult Social Care.
26. How long do adults with learning disabilities stay in emergency short
stay placements on average?
 
There were no short stay placements in 2016/17.
