Dear Brian

Thank you for your email requesting information under the provisions of
the Freedom of Information Act, which we received on 4 January 2021.
For ease of reference, I will set out each of your requests below,
followed by our response:

Under the Freedom of Information Act could I please request that you
attach a copy of all of the sound files of your automated announcements
that play onboard your trams and at your tram stops please. Any format
such as MP3 or ZIP or whatever is fine.
Midland Metro Limited do not own the audio messages that we use for our on
tram and at stop announcements, but are purchased under licence. The
rights to the recordings remain with the supplier. This means that we are
unable to share copies of the recordings with third parties, unless they
are to be used on the West Midlands Metro network. On receipt of your
request we have sought the views of the supplier who has not provided
permission for their release.

I appreciate that you may be disappointed in the outcome of your request,
however, I trust that the information that I have provided explains the
reasons for our decision. That said, we always do our best to fulfil any
request to the best of our ability and therefore have attached three
documents which contain the text for each of the recordings that are used
for audio on stop platforms and onboard trams. These include the latest
extension to Library, for Centenary Square and those that have been
produced to support coronavirus communications.

I trust that I have provided the information that you have requested in a
suitable format. However, if you are dissatisfied with the way in which we
have handled your request, you have the right to ask us to review it. You
should make your request for a review within 40 working days of receipt of
this letter, and we will provide our review within 20 working days of
receipt.

If, following review, you remain dissatisfied with the handling of your
request you have the right under section 50 of the Freedom of Information
Act 2000 to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision.

Generally, the Information Commissioner cannot make a decision unless you
have exhausted our review procedure. You can contact the information
