Wern mynach Barmouth

The request was successful.

Dear Gwynedd Council,

I am looking for confirmation regarding Wern Mynach Football Ground in Barmouth,I believe the site was given to the people of Barmouth a number of years ago,at some stage, the Urban District Council took over maintenance and was followed by Meirionyydd District Council and of course Gwynedd Council.

In a nutshell,i would like to know whom exactly owns this site,as I am led to believe the lease of the ground has been handed over to Barmouth and Dyffryn Utd FC,HOW LONG IS THIS LEASE FOR if true and for how much has the council let this go out for, without public consultation.

More importantly, can anyone related to the Club, apply for planning other use at the site,ie Housing!

You can contact me on 07494 893 815 to inform me of the current state of play.

Yours faithfully,

Brian Harvey (Concerned Resident of Barmouth)

Any individual or organisation can apply for planning permission on land
that they do not currently own. However, any application would be subject
to approval by the Local Planning Authority. If planning permission was
secured, it would not necessarily mean that the applicant would be in a
position to implement the proposals without the consent of the site owner
and if the proposals were contrary to any agreement for the use of the
land in question.

Please see attached for more information.
