I’d like to request information regarding:

- The total spend on staff and student wellbeing services (or the equivalent department) during the 2018/19 academic year.

- Are student mental health services funded by the total identified above? Y/N

- If not, could you please identify which departments are responsible for student mental health support?

Staff Spend

Direct costs for wellbeing spend on staff: £47,121.33 (Inc. VAT)

Salary costs for staff involved in staff wellbeing: £118,658 (Exc. on
costs)

 

Student Spend

The University has spent a total of £1,549,281.83 since the 2014-2015
academic year on mental health services. The total number of service users
(i.e. students “who requested the service”) for 2018-2019 was 1,028 and so
the total spend per service users in 2018-2019 was £545.28. The table
below shows the total annual spend on mental health services for students,
over the last 5 academic years. These figures include all yearly spend
relating to mental health services provision by Student Services, staff
costs, and the subscription cost for MetHub, the Student Services and
Employability’s appointment and information database. The figures for
2014-2015 and 2015-2016 do not include staff costs as this information is
not available. These figures also do not include Disabled Students’
Allowance (DSA) funded support.
