Week 47 Positive COVID-19 PCR Test Deaths

Dear National Records of Scotland,

The NRS has providing the data that the mean, median and mode ages of death associated with COVID-19 in Week 47 that were for females (n = 119) 83.9, 87.5 and 92.5 and for males (n = 125) 77.7, 79.5 and 84.5.

Of the total of 244 deaths from COVID-19 in Week 47 how many are recorded as having a positive real time polymerase chain reaction (rRT-PCR) test result (also described as a RT-qPCR test result) for "SARS-Cov-2" and/or "COVID-19" within 28 days of their death?

Dear National Records of Scotland,

Thanks NRS for stating that "NRS deaths data comes from the information recorded on death certificates, which does not include whether the deceased had a positive test". This is important information as the mainstream media are reporting the COVID-19 deaths as being those deaths for which there was a "positive test result within the past 28 days" so it is unclear how this statement is being justified, maybe there is a cross referencing of death certificates with testing centre IDs.
