Wedding businesses need financial support

The Office of the Small Business Commissioner did not have the information requested.

Felicity Henriques

Dear The Office of the Small Business Commissioner,
The wedding industry, as well as the hospitality industry has had no financial support considering that we are effectively not allowed to trade. We are only allowed to hold weddings for 15 people, which actually costs us money. The CMA is trying to imply that we should give couples full refunds but they have also stated that we should be allowed to withhold some of our incurred expenses. Hence muddying the waters and making matters even less clear than they were. In fact the wedding business has been hung out to dry and we have had no support from the Small business's minister. As we are not allowed to do our business we should be given financial support, otherwise there will be no wedding venues for couple to get married in. So the couple who have decided to move their date forward could end up with nothing. Plus I would have though the vast majority of venues could not pay the full amount of deposits back to all their customers, so again it would end up leaving a large number of couples with nothing.

Yours faithfully,

Felicity Henriques
