Dear Vision West Nottinghamshire College,
I have identified that you have claimed disproportionate burden under the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018, within your published accessibility statement.

Please could you provide me a copy of all completed disproportionate burden assessments or other related documentation detailing how you reached your conclusions of disproportionate burden for each of the issues mentioned in your statement.
I would appreciate this information in a computer readable format as I use assistive technology so any format besides a scanned PDF is preferable please.

Further to your request for information received on 9th December 2019. In
line with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act, the college
will respond within 20 working days. The college shuts down over the
Christmas period between 23rd December and 6th January, as such these two
weeks would not be considered working days. As a result we will therefore
respond to your request by 20th January 2020.
In the meantime if you have any further queries please do not hesitate to
make contact.

Hi Winston
I have attached our original assessment of disproportionate burden as requested. It highlights two issues, one of which we were able to mostly eradicate (95%) before the Sept deadline.
Our first issue is that we use a third party content management system which does not allow the correct ALT tags on images in certain locations (not all). This system is deeply embedded into the site and we did not have the resources to remove it before Sept 2019. We do intend to make adjusts before Sept 2020.
The second issue is that we had so many videos on our site it was not practical to caption every one before the deadline. We mitigated this by removing all but the ones we considered essential. These few remaining ones will be adapted as we go through the next year.
