Weather Facts

craig smith made this Freedom of Information request to Met Office Automatic anti-spam measures are in place for this older request. Please let us know if a further response is expected or if you are having trouble responding.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Met Office should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Meteorological Office,
I request clarification as to why you are persistently claiming false weather reports in the national press.
I live in Stockton-on-Tees and despite persistent forecasting from yourselves about 'heatwaves',
27 degrees being the latest forecast,my town has had colder weather below 20c and near persistent rainfall since June with very little let-up and next to no sunshine.
I think a public body such as yourselves should be more honest as to the weather for the north east,as this is falsely reported in the press.
Things such as 'yellow snow warnings' where we only get one flake or nothing.
Things such as storm caroline a couple of years ago which never even happened.
Heatwaves like the ones currently being forecast, which dont happen in stockton any more.
All we have had for months is non-stop rain following a 40 day drought.
We have had nothing resembling summer and even some leaf drop from the trees since july.
Please could you explain why you cant provide honest truthful reports and instead play to media sensationalism with fictitious heatwaves and snowstorms that never touch the north east?
Also is the weather in the uk being manipulated?cloud seeding, plane trails etc?can i have some clarification on this and its effect on our weather?

Yours faithfully,

craig smith
