Weapons seized in schools

Birmingham City Council did not have the information requested.

Dear Birmingham City Council,

I would like to know the number of weapons confiscated from pupils in the schools in the council's remit.

I would like the data to be provided by academic years 2009-2010, 2010-2011, 2011-2012, 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 to date.

I would like the data separated for primary and secondary schools.

By weapons I mean guns, knives etc. If possible please state the types of weapons removed.

Please state whether the police were involved and what disciplinary action was taken.

Please state if there were any injuries as a result of the weapon being in school.

Yours faithfully,

We do not collect this data. It is not something that the DfE require us
to report on.  You would need to contact all schools directly.

If you have any information which may assist us in determining or locating
any missed information, we would be grateful if you would contact us with
details of this information, so that we can conduct a further search.

If you are not satisfied with the response you may ask for an internal
review.  If subsequently you are not satisfied with the Council's decision
