Dear Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council's handling of my FOI request 'WBC - Internal Email Correspondence'.

The Information technology Section is able to search servers for emails and in this case such emails would be stored on the server if searched thoroughly.

Yours faithfully,

Pete Sheffield

InfoMgr, FinDMT, Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council

Good Afternoon

In response to your request for an Internal Review which is detailed
below, please see our response below.  Apologies for the delay in
responding to you.  Because of the way Council emails are stored,
including the archived older emails; Officers have calculated that to
search our servers and archives would take us over the appropriate limit
allowed by the legislation.  Please see additional detail on this below.

Where an authority is not obliged to comply with a request for information
because, under section 12(1) and regulations made under section 12, the
cost of complying would exceed the "appropriate limit" (i.e. cost
threshold) the authority should consider providing an indication of what,
if any, information could be provided within the cost ceiling. The
authority should also consider advising the applicant that by reforming or
re-focusing their request, information may be able to be supplied for a
lower, or no, fee.

You have the right to complain to the information Commissioner, if you are
dissatisfied with the outcome of this internal review:
