Snowdonia National Park Authority did not have the information requested.

Dear Snowdonia National Park Authority,

Under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 and Freedom of Information Act 2000 please could you supply the following information:

1) Please advise what types of raw water are tested and monitored by yourselves, for example, reservoir water, rain water, river water, snow samples, ice samples, etc.

2) Please advise what tests are done on the raw water in the area that you are responsible for. What content you test for i.e. inorganic, organic, radioactive, microbiological, etc.

3) Please advise any use of filters before testing the raw water.

4) Please advise if raw water testing is done by any other authority, company or body on the land you are responsible for.

If you need further clarification, please contact me by email. My preferred format to receive the information is electronically, but I can accept hard copies.

Some parts of this request may be easier to answer than others, and in such case please could you release available data as soon as possible rather than delay the entire request.

If the costs of processing this request exceed the limit in the Act, please advise on what information you are able to supply within the cost limit.

I look forward to your response within 20 working days, as outlined by the statutes.

I write further to your request for information concerning raw water
testing and monitoring which has been considered under the Environmental
Information Regulations 2004.  Please find below answers to each of your
questions.

 

Q1.      Please advise what types of raw water are tested and monitored by

A1.       The Snowdonia National Park Authority does not carry out any raw
water testing.

 

Q2.      Please advise what tests are done on the raw water in the area

A2.       Not applicable – please see answer to question 1.

 

Q3.      Please advise any use of filters before testing the raw water.

A3.       Not applicable – please see answer to question 1.

 

Q4.      Please advise if raw water testing is done by any other
authority, company or body on the land you are responsible for.

A4.       The Environment Agency undertakes water testing on Llyn Tegid,
Bala which Snowdonia National Park Authority owns.  Should you require
further information regarding the results of these test, please contact
the Environment Agency directly, as this information is not held by us.
