Hello,

I have attached a report containing waste return information for
incinerator data from 1/4/18 to present.

Use of this information is under a Conditional Licence that can be found
here:

[1]https://www.gov.uk/government/publicatio...

You should also pay particular attention to the following:

·         You may use the Information for your internal or personal
purposes and may only sublicense others to use it if you do so under a
written licence which includes the terms of these conditions and the
agreement and in particular may not allow any period of use longer than
the period licensed to you.

·         Notwithstanding the permission in condition 1 you must not
publish the Information in any way.

·         The period of permitted use is one year.

·         We have restricted use of the Information as a result of legal
restrictions placed upon us to protect the rights or confidentialities of
others. In this instance it is because of Personal Data that may not be
Public Register after this licence expires. If you contact us in writing
(this includes email) we will, as far as confidentiality rules allow,
provide you with details including, if available, how you might seek
permission from a third party to extend your use rights.

·         This condition does not apply if use is limited to use that is
authorised by any statute or use that does not require a licence from us.

Please note that 2018 data is provisional and subject to change following
quality assurance checks.

This data may differ from the published dataset where waste tonnage
returns have been received after the publication date.

Dear National, Waste Returns Technical Team,
Thank you for providing a response to my FoI request.
I don't want to deluge you with queries.
However, can I query the absence of the Tyseley EfW from 5 of the 6 quarters? In the second quarter of 2018 it received 73,000 tonnes. presumably it received similar quantities in the other quarters? Is this true or simply the lack of returns from the site?
I am content with other minor discrepancies. This appears to be the only major anomaly.
With many thanks
Yours sincerely,

John Hall

Hi John

The following caveat information should have been included with the
original dataset and should explain the lack of data for other quarters:

Incineration
facilities were
previously
permitted under
the requirements
of the IPPC
Directive and
were not required
to submit waste
returns.
Some facilities
have had their
permits updated
and had the
permit
condition
added, but some
facilities have
not.
The data provided
below is from
those facilities
who are required
to provide waste
returns but does
not include those
who are not
required.
Total tonnage
incinerated is a
consistent
requirement for ALL
incineration
facilities and this
is published for
2017 on the Waste
Management for
England 2017 page on
gov.uk.
However there are
other differences
between these 2
datasets including
that waste returns
cover ALL waste
accepted by a
site, not just the
tonnage
incinerated.
Please note that
this data has
not been fully
quality assured
and is provided
as provisional.
The final
published
dataset may
differ.
THESE CAVEATS
SHOULD BE
TAKEN INTO
CONSIDERATION
WHEN USING
THIS DATA.

Kind regards

Kate
