Dear Kirklees Council,
The above report "Part 2:Growth Forecasts and Assessment of Future Needs. Oct. 2016", states page 23, Para 4.2.9. "all companies ... were contacted by e-mail to check details about their operations". Please provide the following information:

1. A copy of the e-mail which was sent to the 64 companies,
2. The date the e-mail was sent,
3. The number of replies which were received and the dates those replies were received,
4. What attempts were made to contact those companies which did not reply? Please supply details of the medium used and date sent.
5. What source did Kirklees use to obtain the e-mail addresses for use in this excercise.

I am writing in response to your request dated 18 September 2017.  This
has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

 

You asked for the following information:

 

The above report "Part 2:Growth Forecasts and Assessment of Future Needs.
Oct. 2016", states page 23, Para 4.2.9. "all companies ... were contacted
by e-mail to check details about their operations". Please provide the
following information:

 

1. A copy of the e-mail which was sent to the 64 companies, 2. The date
the e-mail was sent, 3. The number of replies which were received and the
dates those replies were received, 4. What attempts were made to contact
those companies which did not reply? Please supply details of the medium
used and date sent. 5. What source did Kirklees use to obtain the e-mail
addresses for use in this exercise.

 

 

The Council’s response to your specific questions is set out below, and in
the documents attached:

1. An e-mail and letter was sent to waste companies surveyed. Please find
enclosed a copy of the e-mail and letter pro-forma sent. The names of more
junior staff members and their contact details have been redacted, and I
attach the relevant refusal notice for this.

2. The e-mail and letters were sent out on 10 December 2014.

3. Seven responses were received on the following dates:

10 December 2014

11 December 2014

15 December 2017

19 December 2014

18 December 2014

22 December 2014

23 December 2017

4. Further chasing correspondence was not sent to companies which failed
to respond.

5. Addresses of the companies surveyed were obtained from records held by
the Environment Agency and e-mail addresses were obtained via internet
searches on company websites.

If you are not content with the handling of your request, you have the

be submitted within 2 months of the date of receipt of the response to
your original request and should be addressed to the Monitoring Officer,
