Waste and recycling

We're waiting for Steve Simpson to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear East Lindsey District Council,

It has been noticed in parish minutes across the district some mention has been given to fly tipping recently, in particular green waste has been mentioned specifically. I am interested to know how successful the current green waste system has been in the year to date, possibly also to see how divisive this may have been amongst residents, and what their waste disposal behaviour has been since the changes.

As such, can you please provide in both the current year to date and a comparative period from last year before green waste was a chargeable service:

1. How many households were/are currently participating in green waste collections?

2. How much green waste was/is currently collected in weight?

3. How much domestic waste from black dustbins was/is collected in weight?

4. How much recycling was/is collected in weight?

5. What was/is the recycling rejected items in percent?

6. How many incidents over both periods in fly tipping were recorded, and what is the approximate cost of resolving?

7. Is the current method of charging for green waste collection set to be formally reviewed, and will residents be consulted on this?

Yours faithfully,

Steve Simpson
