Wandsworth year 6 data/test results summary by primary school and secondary school v2

The request was partially successful.

Dear Wandsworth Borough Council,
I am applying under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for the following information:
Wandsworth year 6 data and test result summary for 2010 AND 2009, AND 2008 - (to be followed up with 2011 and 2012 etc - ideally could you publish this on your website?)

1-Excel table Primary school year 6 results split by verbal
reasoning and non-verbal reasoning split by girls and boys.
Showing for each primary school score averages:
Average Scores Boys VR, Boys N-VR Girls VR Girls NVR
Primary school 1 67% 65% 73% 68%
Primary school 2 56% 85% 62% 65%

2-Excel table showing for each year the number of children from each Wandsworth primary school going to each Wandsworth secondary school.
Row Header: SecSchool1, SecSchool 2, SecSchool 3,...
1st Column Headers:
Primary school 1: 20, 15, 0, .....
Primary school 2: 10, 35, 5,.....

The final column before the column totals would be would be a balancing figure of children in a Wandsworth Primary school NOT going to a Wandsworth Secondary school.
So each Primary School total column figure would therefore be the total for that Primary school year 6.

This table would show transfer of flows of children from primary school to different secondary schools. As Wandsworth has to track it's children the data should also include children going to independent secondary schools.
Please detail the data that you have and disclose where there are gaps.

3-Has Wandsworth performed any correlation analysis by cohort of the performance of primary schools results in summer SAT tests with performance in the "Wandsworth test" the previous November? Can this analysis be detailed and the data supplied in excel for the years requested above?

Ongoing, could you also publish this data annually on your website?
I'm very happy to confirm/discuss format or any queries on the request to save time and clarify any details.
Yours faithfully,
Mike Cluley

Freedom of Information Act request - 2012/5589 - Test data and school

I refer to your request for information received on 29/12/2011.  Please
see the information below in response to your request: -

The attached spreadsheet (FOI SIA)  provides the information from the
admissions service requested on destinations of pupils from Wandsworth
primary schools  to Wandsworth secondary schools for the requested years.
In most cases the information is drawn from information as at July. In
some cases the final figures of actual numbers arriving in secondary
schools in September may differ slightly due to mobility/failure to take
up places etc.

Where cell counts or totals are below 5 pupils these figures have been
redacted. This is in line with DFE guidance and is done to maintain
confidentiality and avoid identification of individuals.  Please note,
personal information that would enable the identification of an individual
has been redacted from these documents.  Information that would result in
you being able to identify individuals is considered to be personal
information.  Disclosure of this information would result in a breach of
one or more of the principles of the Data Protection Act and is therefore
exempt in accordance with section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act.

The authority does not hold definitive information on pupils going to
out-of-borough secondary schools or the independent sector. However May
Year 6 roll numbers for each primary school have been provided in the
attached spreadsheets. Subtracting the numbers going to Wandsworth
maintained  secondary schools from the Year 6 roll total should allow a
generalised estimate of the numbers going to out borough and independent
schools. Please be aware, however, that there may be a small discrepancy
as the admissions data is captured as at July and the roll figures are as
at May for each year.

I hope this information meets your needs. If you do not understand the
information provided or wish to discuss anything further, please feel free
to contact me and I, or another member of the team will be able to assist
