Waiting Times for Social Housing in Wirral

Andrew Sowden made this Freedom of Information request to Tenant Services Authority

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Tenant Services Authority did not have the information requested.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Please could you send the following information, for each month by Sex, Marital Status, Race/Creed (as per Census)and Religion since Apr 2006 for the Wirral area:

1) Average waiting times (in days) for New Applicants onto the Housing List between initial application and taking over the tenancy agreement

2) Average waiting time (in days) for Existing Applicants needing to change existing accommodation due to change of personal circumstance - ie new baby, existing different sex children getting older

The above information would be better presented in a CSV table format (or perhaps spreadsheet) as :

Applicant Type (New or Existing)
Sex (Male, Female, M/F Couple, M/M couple F/F Couple etc)
Marital Status (Single, Partnered etc)
Race (White British etc)
Religion (Atheist etc)

eg

"New", "Male", "Single", "White British", "Muslim", 1890
"Existing", "Female", "Single", "Black - Caribbean", "Christian", 2191

etc

Where a measure is not available, please indicate and omit that level of detail in the table.

The average days is:

for new Applicants - the difference between Signing the Tenancy Agreement and Originally Signing onto the Housing List

for existing Applicants - the difference between Signing the new Tenancy Agreement and the Date of Notification of Personal Circumstance change

[Helpful Hint]
For ease of data extraction, as no identifiable personal data is included in the table, each row could be for each individual tenancy, and replace the days column with "Application Date", "Tenancy Commenced Date".
[End of Hint]

3) What criteria is used to prioritise allocation of Housing

4) If Race, Creed, Marital Status, Religious Belief is used in the prioritisation of the Housing List

Yours faithfully,

Andrew Sowden

Foia TSA, Tenant Services Authority

Dear Mr Sowden

Thank you for your recent request under the Freedom of Information Act.

TSA is the regulator of housing associations but we have no involvement
with the allocation of housing. Therefore we do not hold information on
waiting times for Social Housing. Allocations of social housing are
commonly done by Local Authorities so your local council may be able to
help.

I regret that we are unable to help you in this matter.

Final comments:

If you are dissatisfied with my response, you may request an internal
review. To do this you should contact Claer Lloyd-Jones, Executive
Director of Corporate Services, at TSA, Maple House, 149 Tottenham Court
Road, London W1T 7BN. You should make your application no later than 40
working days from when you receive this response. Once you have been
through our internal review process you may then contact the Information
Commissioner whose address is Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow,
Cheshire SK9 5AF.
