Waiting times for permission applications for judicial review in the Upper Tribunal (IAC)

The request was partially successful.

Dear Her Majesty’s Courts and the Tribunals Service,

I have made previous requests concerning the waiting times for immigration judicial reviews in the UTIAC. I wanted to check something with you about the figures released to me concerning the timeliness of judicial review claims. The reason why I want to check this with you is because the UTIAC President, Sir Bernard McCloskey, has queried some of the statistics. Accordingly, I would like to double-check them with you. I hope this makes sense and sounds reasonable. Many thanks.

Could you please supply me with the following information, points 1-4 below, for each month from December 2013 until the most recent month for which you can release statistics? Many thanks.

1, the average number of calendar days from lodgement of immigration judicial review claims in the Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) to a paper permission decision.

2, the average number of calendar days from lodgement of immigration judicial review claims in the Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) to an oral permission decision.

3, the average number of calendar days from lodgement of immigration judicial review claims in the Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) to a substantive decision.

4, the average number of calendar days from lodgement of immigration judicial review claims in the Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) to a substantive hearing.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

Robert Thomas
