Your request 
You requested the following: 
 
1.  Please can you tell me how many people who were waiting for treatment on an NHS waiting list 
with Aneurin Bevan UHB have died in the last 12 months whilst waiting? 
 
Our response 
 
1.  There has been 737 people who have died whilst registered on a waiting list between September 
2022 and August 2023. During this time, there was an average of 33,488 patients on a waiting 
list each month. 
 
Next steps 
If you are not satisfied that the information you have requested has been provided, or because of 
the  way  your  request  has  been  handled,  you  have  the  right  to  request  a  review.    This  would  be 
looked into in accordance with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) guidelines, which state 
that  a request  for review should be received within  40 days of  you receiving the Health Board’s 
response to your request for information.
