Response on Fri, 11 Mar 2011 to email prompt:

Dear Margaret

Thank you for bringing to my attention that an FOI request relating to allotment waiting times within the borough that you submitted some time ago is still awaiting a response.

I have looked into the matter and found that we received the request on the 11th January 2011, and sent an acknowledgement to you on the 12th January 2011. On assessing whether we had information relating to your request, it was found that Wigan Council did not hold the information you requested, and that it was Wigan, Leisure and Culture Trust (WLCT) who would be in possession of such information.

WLCT are a separate organisation to the Council and as such are responsible under legislation for responding to any FOI requests in their own right. On the 12th January 2011 we passed your request to WLCT in order for them to respond directly to you, this should have been communicated to you, I apologise if this was not the case.

I will on Monday on your behalf, contact the officer who is responsible for dealing with FOI requests at WLCT and ascertain the status of your request.

Dear Margaret

I write in response to your original request that was sent to Wigan
Council unfortunately as you can see I have only just received your
request.

Wigan Leisure & Culture Trust manages statutory allotments on behalf of
Wigan Council; I assume that you have had a response from Wigan
regarding non-statutory allotments.

Our responses have been added to the body of your original email.

Regards

Margaret Pennington
