Waiting list for The Weald Secondary school

West Sussex County Council did not have the information requested.

Dear West Sussex County Council,

Please could you let me know how many children are currently on the waiting list to join the weald school and how long this normally takes for a child in catchment who has moved to the area to join the school once on the waiting list. For siblings in year 7 and 8.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs M

Dear Mrs M

I refer to your Freedom of Information request dated 22 May 2023. You
asked for information on the waiting list for The Weald School.

The Local Authority does not provide information on waiting lists because
some children may not appear on the list, and some lists are not ranked,
until a place can be offered. Therefore, until a place can be offered the
information is not reliable and can be misleading.

I can confirm that when a place does become available, and the list is
ready, the place is offered to the child at the top of the list at that
