Dear Lorraine

Thank you for your enquiry which was received on 16 February 2018. Please
see purple text below for responses to your questions.

We respond to requests under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and
Environmental Information Regulations 2004. Please refer to the [1]Open
Government Licence which explains the permitted use of this information.

1) Could you please provide how many times the EA visited Horse Hill drill
site when UKOG/HHDL were drilling between 2014 and 2017.

We carried out 10 formal site inspections during the operational periods,
which was from 08-12-2014 to 01-03-2016.

2) Could you please provide information that was taken by yourselves in
regard to the pressures (psi) of acid and/or any other liquids/fluids used
in their drilling and flow-testing.

We do not hold this information. Please contact the Health and Safety
Executive who may be able to assist.

3) Can you provide evidence of the content of these fluids?

All the chemicals that the operator was permitted for have been assessed
and deemed acceptable during permit determination – please find details
within the attached Waste Management Plans from both completed operational
phases. In addition to this the operator made changes to the chemical
supplier during the testing phase of operations which resulted in changes
to the inventory - please see CAR ref 0259889 attached. Please also note
that the chemical SEM-8 cited in this CAR form (awaiting assessment at the
time of issue) was also determined to be non-hazardous and acceptable
following assessment.

4) Can you provide evidence of the exact percentage of hydrochloric acid
used?

Details on the HCL permitted is within the approved Waste Management Plans
attached.

I trust this information is of use. If you have any further queries or if
you’d like us to review the information we have provided, please contact
us within two months and we will happily do this for you.

Regards

Dear KSL Enquiries,

Thank you for your response to my questions 3 & 4 below....

3) Can you provide evidence of the content of these fluids?

All the chemicals that the operator was permitted for have been assessed
and deemed acceptable during permit determination – please find details
within the attached Waste Management Plans from both completed operational
phases. In addition to this the operator made changes to the chemical

4) Can you provide evidence of the exact percentage of hydrochloric acid
used?

Details on the HCL permitted is within the approved Waste Management Plans
attached.

My response:
There has been some misunderstanding with my request, I am not requesting HHDL/UKOG's EA application documents, I am requesting the regulatory tests done by yourselves as a regulator of the onshore oil and gas industry to ensure that the company in question is adhering to their waste management plan and quantities outlined in their application.

Many thanks

Yours sincerely,

Lorraine Inglis
