Victoria line disrupting announcements
Dear Transport for London,
HI I am asking some information about your Victoria line Announcements and also tell me some information on how the disruption announcements work. I would also like a script on the disruption announcements, now i know you released a script already but there is no script for the disruption announcements. I would hope to find some responses soon.
Yours faithfully,
joshua tyrrell

I'm not asking for the announcements we know they can not be released I'm asking about how the system works

The sheet is probably held by the control center to know what to play. The announcements could get released (maybe) if grs lose the contract which forbids their distribution.

Dear Joshua Tyrrell
Our ref: FOI-3928-2324/GH
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 30
January 2024 asking for information about Victoria line disruption
announcements
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that
we do hold the information you require.
On the Victoria Line, disruption announcements on trains can be sent from
the Line Information Specialist (LIS) at the Victoria Line Control Centre.
The LIS selects the disruption, an optional reason and optional advice
from a number of fixed options. The system prioritises the messages and
chooses the locations to play based on the disruption. For example
disruption on the Central Line would be high priority approaching Green
Park Northbound and not played at all approaching Stockwell southbound.
Please find attached a full list of all the message fragments available.
The messages are Core, Extended and Advice. Each of those is made up of
two parts. For example
“The District Line” + “is part suspended” + “between Tower Hill” + “and
Upminster” + “due to a passenger incident” + “. Please use alternative
routes”
Additionally the train operator is expected to make live public
announcements which are not scripted, when required.
Please let me know if this is not the information you are looking for, or
if you are unable to access it for some reason.
If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached
information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
