This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was partially successful.

Dear Police Scotland,

The Victim and Witness Act which received assent in Jan 2014 places on the Chief Constable a responsibility to publish standards, required under the Act;

I attach a link:

1. Could I have a copy of the standards police Scotland have published please.
2. Can I have a copy of any SOP Police Scotland has produced dealing with the recording and investigating of crime please.
3. Can I have any SOP Police Scotland has produced dealing with allegations of misconduct made to PSD.
4. Can I have any SOP Police Scotland has produced dealing with "whistle blowers / whistle blowing in the work place in police Scotland - by police and police staff.

If Police Scotland do not have "SOP's" - can Police Scotland supply any policy or guidance procedures that are issued to police officers and staff in the four areas listed and for each of the questions above.

This is a FOI request.

Yours faithfully,

john mauger

Keeping the whistle. How much does such disregard for the word of law that Police Scotland is "employed" to uphold cost??? Mmm.... What kind of "signal" does this send out to the "Law Abiding" citizens of Scotland? Police "Reform" in action. Nice. This is what you do to your own people. Speaks volumes.

This gentleman’s situation powerfully illustrates retaliation against whistleblowers who raise concerns. The official smokescreen covering senior police misconduct has gone on too long.

Absolutely. Enough. This whole case and all the others like it which just "disappear" is absolutely disgusting and reeks of desperation for control. Abuses of power shows a leader who has no real power and no control over his employees (and absolutely no respect for them). John Mauger is the only person who comes out of this situation with any real credibility. I hope he continues. He was quiet for way too long and I'd still like to hear the whole sorry tale (as do many others now). Accountability required. Please don't give up.
