How on earth is general information on a PUBLICLY funded process classed under a S38 Exemption? It is NOT related to an individual, nor is it personal data. WHAT is the point of police FORCE who do not think it pertinent to follow the word of law that it is employed to follow, enforce and uphold? For I do not see a point to it's existence. That this was rejected is a firm example of a completely arrogant disregard for legal due process and the word of law itself. One that Police Scotland is EMPLOYED by it's electorate to uphold. Reasons for rejection = people employed when not qualified in a role that has statutory requirements in the interests of public safety which is paramount. This is a legitimate request. It is not a legitimate exemption. So much for transparency.

Dear Police Scotland,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Police Scotland's handling of my FOI request 'Vetting of senior police Officers'

I am not happy with your response as follows

(1) I have requested the entire PSoS policy and not someone's précis of it

(2) Given that I have made it clear that I do not require individual data I am amazed that you think that totals of officers that are vetted in each category somehow identifies individual officers in such a way as to constitute personal data
All I require is the total number of officers in each vetting category.....,I am not even asking for rank, sex, ethnic origin or any other personal descriptive factor?

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/v...

Yours faithfully,

Mike Roulston
