Mr David Daly

Dear Mr Re,
Thank you for your email of 30 September in which you asked for the following information:
“Would you be kind enough to provide any manufacture, modification, service, and
deployment history of the Land Rover registration number 15 KF 70, serial number
SALLDHAC7BA262963.”
I am treating your correspondence as a request for information under the Freedom of Information
Act 2000. A search across the Ministry of Defence (MOD) has now been completed, and I can
confirm that the department holds some information relevant to your request.
However, Section 21(1) of the FOI Act states that some of the information is exempt if it is
reasonably accessible to the applicant by other means. The department has undertaken a routine
review of the MERLIN archive and the final version of this has since been released as part of a
previous FOI request, which can be accessed at:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/foi-responses-published-by-mod-week-commencing-
09-july-2018
The information that is not subject to this exemption is the maintenance history and the repair
actions for the vehicle. These can be found in the attached annexes.
Under Section 16 (Advice and Assistance), I can advise you that the database in the above link is
split into seven spreadsheets. The first has a list of vehicles, while sheets two through seven have
the service histories. To search for a vehicle, you must press Ctrl + F, then select ‘Options’ and
then select ‘Workbook’ from the ‘Within’ drop down list. Information relevant to you request can be
found by typing the vehicle registration number 15KF70, and then enter.
Furthermore, you may wish to note that the Ministry of Defence has previously answered FOIs that
may be relevant to your request. These FOIs can be accessed through the links below:
