1. What is your authorities annual cost (excluding VAT) that you spend on the hiring/leasing of vehicles?

2. Does or would your authority have a requirement to hire/lease any of the following makes of vehicles:
a) Mini Bus/ MPV 8-9 Seats.
b) Vans of all sizes.
c) Refrigerated Vehicles.

3. Are your hire/lease vehicles on a contract term?

4. If so, when do they expire?

5. Would an SME contract hire company (up to £30,000 per annum) be allowed to provide your authority with hire/lease vehicles?

Further to your recent request for information the University's response
follows.

What is your authorities annual cost (excluding VAT) that you spend on the
hiring/leasing of vehicles?

The total annual cost of contract vehicle hire £41,287.

    

Does or would your authority have a requirement to hire/lease any of the
following makes of vehicles:

     a) Mini Bus/ MPV 8-9 Seats - Occasional need for very short term
hires

     b) Vans of all sizes - Yes

     c) Refrigerated Vehicles - Yes

    

Are your hire/lease vehicles on a contract term? 

All hire vehicles are hired under contract.

    

If so, when do they expire? 

Existing contracts expire at various dates between Nov 11 and Mar 14

    

Would an SME contract hire company (up to £30,000 per annum) be allowed
to provide your authority with hire/lease vehicles?

Subject to internal procurement procedures, yes. Please see the University
Financial Regulations (available on our website [1]here) for further
information about University procurement rules and regulations.

If yes, which person could we contact and what would be their direct

Procurement is managed centrally by the Procurement team who can be
contacted via the University switchboard on 020 8417 9000.
