Legal Fees - £150.00
Council Costs £466.00
Building - men & materials £1,200
1. Please could you outline the precise breakdown of the council estimated costs (£466.00).
2. Please could you provide details what company/s the council uses to perform the neccesary building work for vehicle crossovers, please provide details of any contracts that are in place and provide evidence that EU tendering compliance rules were adhered to in the tendering process.
3. Please outline what processes are in place to ensure that builders contracted to perform business on behalf of the council are providing residents with value for money.
4. What do the legal fees on a vehicle crossover cover?
I would appreciate a response as soon as possible.

Hi Adam,
I have similarly applied for a vehicle crossover to be constructed and have received the same inflated estimate from the council. Whilst I expected costs of somewhere just south of £1k I didn't expect a charge of nearly double that.
The £1,761.00 estimate I have been presented with is massively prohibitive, and feels a little like £125.00 charge for the estimate was a waste of time (why do the council not provide indicative costs on their website?).
I'd be keen to understand where you have got to with your complaints proceedure or if you have just left this be. I would be happy to approach Information the Information Commissioner's Office with you.
If you want to contact me to discuss further, please drop me a line at adambenj@hotmail.com.
Regards,
Adam Benjamin
