speedenforcementSE,

Dear Mr Soane,

Thank you for your enquiry to CCC recorded below which has been forwarded
to me.  Your request has been handled under normal business practices and
not in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act/Environmental
Information Regulations.

Having investigated this enquiry, from the data available to me I can
advise at the above location, date and time there do not appear to have
been any reduced speed limits set.  However, please note that our records
are kept for operational purposes and should be considered for information
only; they contain recommended speed limits for the motorway, they do not
represent the times at which the signs changed or that the recommended
speed limit was adopted by the motorway signals.

Enforcement of speed restrictions is the responsibility of the police.  If
your enquiry relates to a speeding offence, please note that the speed
enforcement system on our smart motorways generates a photo showing the
speed limit displayed on the enforcement gantry at the exact time of an
alleged offence and which should be obtainable from the police.  No other
camera footage is available.

If you have any queries about this response, please would you only contact
our Customer Contact Centre, quoting reference number 21751633.

Yours sincerely
