Thank you for contacting us regarding the speed limit in place at 14:13 on
28 August 2020 on signal 4620B between junctions 35 & 34 on the M1
motorway.

 

The speed limit at that time was 60mph. This had been in place since 12:37
and was set for traffic flow management purposes. The 60mph limit remained
until 14:20 when a reduction to 50mph was displayed for the same reason.

 

The information you have requested is information we make available to the
public on a regular basis. Your request has been handled under normal
business practices and not in accordance with the Freedom of Information
Act/Environmental Information Regulations.

 

Enforcement of speed limits is the role of the police. Part of the
evidence they obtain are images which show the vehicle as it passes the
