Dear Department for Culture, Media and Sport,

In the debate on Music and the Economy on 22 November,

http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa...

Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport, Ed Vaizey, made reference to the "British music industry" as "a staggering success, with almost £4 billion of sales."

Could you provide me with:

(a) a copy of the evidence upon which this £4 billion estimate is based and
(b) an itemization of the specific sectors of the industry that it encompasses.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

Ray Corrigan
