Chevin, Zak, Land Registry

Dear Mr and Mrs Snedker,

Thank you for your email of 15th December 2020 in which you requested a valuation of your property, 4 Daneholme Avenue, Daventry, NN10 0PN in 1991.

Your request was dealt with under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

I have completed searches of our systems and have been unable to find any information about the price of your property in 1991.

HM Land Registry does not always have a record of house price information prior to 1995 for the following reasons:

1) Compulsory registration was not completed throughout England and Wales until 1990.

2) Although we have information on all transactions since 1990, the price paid for the property was not recorded until 1995

3) Manual records were not maintained of prices paid prior to 1995 and to extract that information for residential sales now from our paper records is simply not feasible in terms of both logistics and resource.

Therefore, I am sorry that I cannot provide the information requested for your property.

If you have any queries about this letter, please contact me.

If you are dissatisfied with this response to your request, you may seek an internal review within two months of the date of our reply. Internal reviews will be dealt within 20 working days. If at the end of this time we are unable to respond, we will write to you explaining the reasons and giving you a new date. If you seek an internal review please write to:

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner (ICO) within three months of the reply for a decision. Generally, the ICO cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted the complaints procedure provided by HM Land Registry. Please see their contact page. Please note that the ICO's offices are closed for the foreseeable future. They are unable to receive correspondence by post.
