Dear Solicitors Regulation Authority

Please provide sight of all information held relating to the validation of a Legal Practice Course (LPC) offered by the University of Derby from 2017 onwards, to include any related investigations, arrangements, and instructions to and between the University of Derby and third parties.

This should include information where the terminology used is other than 'validation' e.g. accreditation, approval etc.

Irrespective of the SRA's transparency code, in this case, the SRA is fulfilling a function that would otherwise have to be provided by a government appointed public body.

Yours faithfully

David Gale

Dear Solicitors Regulation Authority,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Solicitors Regulation Authority's handling of my FOI request 'Validation of University of Derby Legal Practice Course'.

1. The SRA has claimed exemption from the provisions within the FOI Act in circumstances where there is a clear public interest in disclosure.

2. The historic nature of the requested information does not lend itself to a claim that the SRA's regulatory function would be in any way be compromised.

3. The SRA has already admitted destroying or failing to make proper records of its contact with the same university in August 2017, in relation to a complaint of a breach of the Equality Act and the SRA's equalities policy,

4. claiming exemption in response to this FOI request risks further serious damage to public confidence in the SRA's regulatory role.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/v...

Yours faithfully,

David Gale
