Could you please provide me with the following information under
the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

1. The addresses and brief description
(eg,shop,warehouse,office,etc,) and
rateable value of all 'empty' commercial premises with a current
rateable value over £ 40,000 within the Coventry City
Council area.

2. The names and addresses of the organisations or companies who
are liable to pay rates on those premises referred to in (1)

Freedom of Information Act 2000

Thank you for requesting information vacant commercial property with a
rateable value over £40,000, which the Council received on 28^th June
2011.

You have requested the following information:

1. The addresses and brief description

(eg,shop,warehouse,office,etc,) and

rateable value of all 'empty' commercial premises with a current

rateable value over £ 40,000 within the Coventry City

Council area.

are liable to pay rates on those premises referred to in (1)

Please see attached spreadsheet which the Council updates in April and
September of each year. Please note that the attached spreadsheet
excludes names where the owner of a company is an individual or sole
trader. This information is being withheld as it falls under the
exemption in Section 40(3) of the Act. This information constitutes
personal information and its disclosure is judged in this instance to be a
breach of Data Protection principles, notably the first principle - that
of fair and lawful processing. This exemption is absolute and in it's
application , no consideration of the public interest is required.

Please note that most of the information that you request is owned by the
Coventry City Council and subject to copyright protection. Under the
Re-Use of Public Sector Information 2005 Regulations you are free to use
this information for your own use or for the purposes of news reporting.
However, any other type of re-use under the Regulations, for example;
publication of the information or circulation to the public, will require
permission of the copyright owner and may be subject to terms and
conditions. For documents where the copyright does not belong to Coventry
City Council you will need to apply separately to the copyright holder.
