Utilisation of Rostering Software

Under FOI please provide the following information relating to how the organisation rosters its staff.
1. Does the trust currently use rostering software?
2. Please state the name(s) of all rostering provider(s) used, split by the following staffing groups. Where no third parties are used, please explain how these staff are rostered:
a. Medical & Dental
b. Nursing & Midwifery
c. AHPs
d. Other (please specify)
3. Does the organisation store its rostering data on its own servers or in the Cloud? Again please provide this information for each of the following staffing groups:
a. Medical & Dental
b. Nursing & Midwifery
c. AHPs
d. Other (please specify)
4. What other rota management systems are used by the organisation? Please state the names of any providers used and what they are used for.
5. Please state the name(s) of all third party tech solutions used by the organisation to manage internal bank staff (Allocate, Liaison, Holt, Brookson etc.). Please split this by the following staffing groups:
a. Medical & Dental
b. Nursing & Midwifery
c. AHPs
d. Other (please specify)

Q1.     Does the trust currently use rostering software?

A1      No – NHS Ayrshire & Arran does not use rostering software. 

 

Q2.     Please state the name(s) of all rostering provider(s) used, split
by the following staffing groups. Where no third parties are used, please
explain how these staff are rostered:

 

a.     Medical & Dental

Staff are rostered manually within each department, based on New Deal rota
templates. NHS Ayrshire & Arran is currently participating in the Scottish
Government Pilot in

respect of the DRS rostering for junior doctors.  This pilot commenced in
August and is currently being tested in Medicine and Emergency Medicine at
University Hospital  

Crosshouse, with consideration being given to testing in Emergency
Medicine at University Hospital Ayr.

 

b.   Nursing & Midwifery

SSTS (Scottish Standard Time System): the service provider is ATOS Origin,
which supports SSTS. These services are provided to the NHS Scotland under
a

National IT Services contract between National Services Scotland (NSS) and
ATOS.

 

c.   AHPs

AHPs do not use rostering systems.

 

d    Other (please specify)

DRS information is stored on the local server.

 

b.     Nursing & Midwifery

Stored on its own server.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran does not have an established Bank for Medical staff. 
We are currently trialing a Bank for Hospital at Night shifts, using
software used by the Nursing

& Midwifery Bank (see below).

 

b.   Nursing & Midwifery

BSMS (Bank Staff Management System) KEY IT Systems.

 

c.   AHPs

Not applicable.

 

d.   Other (please specify)

Not applicable.
