Request for Information
 
Thank you for your Freedom of Information Act (FOI) request, as received
on 27 September 2016 and acknowledged on 5 October 2016.   For
information, the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is one of the
largest and busiest NHS teaching Trusts in the country incorporating
Leicester General Hospital, Glenfield Hospital and Leicester Royal
Infirmary.  Our three hospitals have around 14,000 staff serving around
one million people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, and a
further two to three million people from the rest of the UK who come to us
for the specialist services we provide.  During 2015-16 we treated
1,577,200 that’s 4,321 patients per day) – 347,700 more than in 2014-15.
 
Following consultation with colleagues from the Trust’s Corporate Nursing
Directorate, I confirm that the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS
Trust does not hold information covered by your FOI request.   In your
Freedom of Information Act request, you asked for the following
information and the Trust’s response is provided below your request.
 
1. How many qualified Social Workers did you have working on a temporary
(Agency) basis on 30 August 2016?
2. What was your total expenditure on temporary (Agency) Social workers
supplied through a recruitment agency in the financial year 2015-16?
 
The Trust’s response is:-
 
I am advised that the Trust does not employ social care staff. Please
contact the local authority for this information.
