Dear Giany Gurpreet,

Thank you for your response to my Freedom of Information Request (FOI).

In your response the council states that complying with my request would exceed the appropriate cost limit for an FOI request. Please could you explain why the council believes my question would exceed this limit?

I can see from a previous response in March 2016 that the council has provided similar information as part of their response to a more lengthy FOI request : https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/3...

Question 6 & 7 of this past FOI request asks a very similar question to mine, yet there has been a response to it.

To clarify my request, I only want to know how many qualified Social Workers were working on a temporary (agency) basis at the Council on 1st April 2016, split by 1. Children’s Services and 2. Adult Services. I don't require a detailed breakdown of the workers in each team within these services.

I hope this makes my request more clear, thank you for your time.

Yours sincerely,

Rob Parker

Dear Giany, Gurpreet,

BSS FOI, Southampton City Council

Good Morning Rob

I would like to apologise for the time it has taken us to reply to your request. This delay has been due to various changes in the service areas. Our response indicated that we do not monitor Agency spend activity at this detailed level. We do not record whether Agency spend is for a qualified or unqualified social worker as this information is not contained within the invoice information from the Agency, also it is not necessarily clear from the invoice whether the agency worker is a Social Worker.

Kind Regards
