Dear Ms Smith
Ref Freedom of Information Request 101000513855
Further to the email dated 13th October 2014, please see the response to
your FOI request below:
How many qualified Social Workers were working on a temporary (Agency)
basis at the Council on 26th September 2014 analysed by:
1. Children’s Services
As at 26^th September 2014, Children’s Services had 27.4 FTE temporary
agency qualified Social Workers.
2. Adult Services
For information, Swindon Borough Council contracts out their Adult Social
Care Provider Services to a Social Enterprise called ‘SEQOL’. SEQOL are
not covered directly by the FOI Act. It is only covered through the
commissioning of services it provides via the contract to the Council etc.
Therefore we do not hold this information as SEQOL is responsible for
managing their own Social Work staff arrangements.
However, Swindon Borough Council retains a small team of qualified Social
Work staff in commissioning and management roles. We also have a small
team who work in partnership with the Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health
Partnership Trust (AWP) to deliver Mental Health Services across Swindon.
As at 26^th September 2014, Adult Services (Commissioning) had two FTE
temporary agency Social Workers.
