1. What is the total number of Social Workers employed in the council on a
permanent basis:

ANSWER:
Adult Services = 84 Social Work staff
Children's Services = 149 Social Work Staff

1b. & what proportion are employed on an agency basis - please provide
break down based on department.

PLEASE NOTE: The information below is a percentage of the overall FTE
social workers employed.

ANSWER:
Children's Services 4.55FTE
Adult Services 15.89 FTE
Total 20.45FTE Social Workers week ending 25/02/18

2. Who (post and name if appropriate) is responsible for recruitment and
retention of social workers on an agency basis in the council?

ANSWER: Many Social Work Managers are responsible for engaging agency
staff, however they are restricted to using an agency with whom the
Council has a master contract

3. Please confirm the sum of off contract spend within the Local Authority
on temporary social workers, senior practitioners & team managers, i.e.
that is paid for outside of any PSL or Managed Service Provider from
between 1st of May 2017 - 28th of February 2018 - please break down based
on department.

ANSWER: £67,311 was spent on social work agency staff outside the
Authority's main contract.

4. Please confirm the total spend within the Local Authority on temporary
social workers, senior practitioners & team managers from between 1st of
May 2017 - 28th of February 2018 - please break down based on department.

ANSWER:
Children's Services £322,515
Adult Services £671,067
Total £993,582 between 1st May 2017 and 25th February 2018.
