Use of social media by employees of LB of Brent

The request was successful.

Dear Brent Borough Council,

Under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to know:

(1) whether your authority has a policy governing employees’ use of social media while at work. This would include – but not necessarily be restricted to – their access to social networking sites such as Facebook, video sharing sites such as YouTube and microblogging sites including Twitter. If a policy of this kind exists, I would asked that it be released.

(2) whether any employees have been disciplined for breaching the policy on social media use since its introduction and the form which the disciplinary action has taken.

Yours faithfully,

Phil Woodford
