1. How many individuals used the library for each year 2008-2018
2. How many books in total were borrowed from the prison library for each year 2008-2018
3. How many fiction novels were borrowed for each year 2008-2018
4. What were the 50 most borrowed fiction novels for each year 2008-2018
5. How many times were each of the top 50 borrowed novels issued for each year 2008-2018

If this information is not available please give brief explanation for the lack of data and it would be very helpful if you could make a suggestion regarding which body or organisation does hold this data.

I refer to your Freedom of Information request in relation to Use of
prison library HMP Northumberland.

Right of Access  
  
Section 1(1) of the Act provides any person making a request for
information to a public authority is entitled.  
  
(a) to be informed in writing by the public authority whether it holds
information of the description specified in the request (which Section
1(6) of the Act designates as the "duty to confirm or deny"), and  
  
(b) if that is the case, to have that information communicated to him.  
  
The right is to obtain access to the information itself and not to the
document or record which contains it.  
  
The Act creates a general right of access to information held by public
authorities subject to various exemptions.

A.1 Unfortunately, we do not have statistics for every year. In 2017-18 we
changed our Library Management System and can no longer obtain previous
years.  

  

In 2017-18 when we changed our LMS our system only allows us to provide
full issues and is not broken down further by format.
