This is a request under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004. I would like to request the following information:

Do you manage your open spaces yourself or are they are outsourced?

If they are outsourced, what is the name of the company/companies that manage them?

What is your policy for weed control in the open spaces - parks, sports fields, grass verges etc?
Do you use herbicides containing glyphosate eg Roundup, Weedol etc
If yes, what do you use
What areas have been sprayed with herbicides containing glyphosate?
What is your policy on the use of glyphosate?
What precautions were taken ahead of its use?

For the calendar years 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022, please can you tell me:

The volume of these herbicides you have you used
The cost

I would like to receive the information electronically - preferably in an Excel format. Do you manage your open spaces yourself or are they are outsourced?
Answer - The parks are managed by The London Borough of Sutton but the
grounds maintenance is contracted out.

If they are outsourced, what is the name of the company/companies that
manage them?
Answer - Our Grounds maintenance contractor is Idverde Ltd.

What is your policy for weed control in the open spaces - parks, sports
fields, grass verges etc?
Answer - Policy P3 of the Sutton Council Parks and Open Spaces Strategy

"The Council will adopt an integrated weed management approach to weed
control and reduce dependence on chemicals by evaluating requirements at
each location, designing out weeds, and selecting alternative control
methods where appropriate."

Answer - The contractor follows the manufacturer's guidance with regard to
all herbicide use.

Answer - as the chemical is purchased by the contractor the London Borough
of Sutton does not hold this information.
