Use of Pest Control at TfGM and Metrolink sites
Dear Transport for Greater Manchester,
I am writing to request information regarding the use of Pest Control at TfGM/Metrolink sites. Specifically relating to the use of lethal control methods of Pigeons.
Could you please tell me the locations where TfGM/Metrolink currently uses lethal pest control for pigeons (E.g Ashton Bus station, Metrolink depots etc)
The types of lethal pest control used on TfGM/Metrolink sites (E.g Shooting, Trapping etc).
The total cost, March 2021 to March 2022 TfGM/Metrolink has spent on Pest control, if this figure can not be provided relating specifically to Pigeon populations then a total figure for all pest control will suffice.
Under the general licence laws for the use of lethal pest control methods, non-lethal methods must have been, and continue to be tried unless unreasonable.
For the locations where lethal pest control is used can you also tell me what types of non lethal methods have been attempted and when these were tried. If none then could you please tell me why non-lethal methods would be unreasonable.
Yours faithfully,
James Boden
